These unique hand-colored cards are an answer to
prayer to those dying of Aids in the Philippines. |
The
problem: |
| how to provide a small income to Aids patients who receive free
government hospitalization, but have to pay for food, medicine and
personal items such as adult diapers. |
The
solution: |
| after years of trial and error with various livelihood projects,
the CCDF Aids art therapy card is a success! |
These cards are now available for purchase in the United States.
A package of 10 blank greeting cards cost $20 plus mailing costs.
The cards measure 5.5"x7" and are signed on the back by
the person who colored it. Many of the "artists" who have
colored these cards have since lost their lives. The patients have
all expressed deep gratitude for this project which provided not only
income but self dignity, a distraction from their disease, and joy
in creating. You can see the playful expressions on each card! |

At first glance, many people think that the Aids art therapy card
was colored by a child. But in fact, this is a project for adults.
The original drawing was done by a six year old child, then reproduced
and colored by the adult patients. Someday soon we hope to expand
our card project to pediatric Aids patients and Aids orphans. But
in the meantime, you can order our current stock now!
This project is a joint venture of the Christian Cultural Development
Foundation & Youth with a Mission, Olongapo, Philippines. |
